With the seasons changing, it’s worth remembering Abbots Green is a Yorkshire holiday park that is open all year round.

Whatever the weather, the fabulous setting of our luxury lodges on the edge of the North York Moors National Park means there is always plenty to do. Even on brisk days, the miles and miles of unspoilt Yorkshire countryside right on your doorstep can still be enjoyed whether it’s walking, cycling or just sitting back and enjoying the views from the comfort of your warm and cosy lodge.

Here are just a few reasons to take advantage of a Yorkshire holiday park that is open all year round.

Location

Getting away from it all is a wonderful opportunity to recharge the batteries. With spectacular views from all directions, Abbots Green is the perfect place to escape the stresses of everyday life. The North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales are both in easy reach, so it couldn’t be easier to explore the picturesque villages, glorious coastal walks or the nearby cities and towns of York, Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk.

Things to do

No matter the season, Abbots Green is an unrivalled spot to explore Yorkshire. With over a hundred recognised attractions within little more than a 20-mile radius, there is so much to do. Discover the White Horse of Kilburn, Sutton Bank for walking, climbing and gliding – and don’t forget the wealth of heritage. York Minster, Castle Howard and the ancient abbeys of Rievaulx, Jervaulx, Fountains and Byland are all not too far away. For the kids, the coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby always offer plenty of fun and excitement, even in the winter.

Christmas shopping

On a frosty day, wrap up and enjoy mulled wine and mince pies at one of the local Christmas markets in the area. Highlights in this year’s calendar include Harrogate Christmas Market (16 -19 November). With a strong Yorkshire theme, there are handcrafted gifts alongside popular food and drink stalls selling locally produced goods. The St Nicholas Fair in York (16-22 November) celebrates the best of local crafts and seasonal gifts, while the Christmas Craft Fair at the stunning Duncombe Park near Helmsley (17-18 November) has a wide selection of independent stallholders selling luxury and unique gifts.  And don’t miss the nearby Thirsk Christmas Fayre weekend (24-26 November) – just up the road from Abbots Green.
